I’ve put off starting this blog for over two years now. Today I attended a workshop on social media for authors (hosted by SCBWI – the Society for Children Book Writer’s and Illustrators) where the importance of tweeting and blogging was emphasized. So here I am.
My blog will include stories about my dogs, my cats (like Myron, pictured above) my books (I’m currently crafting a bloodhound mystery for teens), bloodhounds and scent evidence work, my pet detective work, and my continued struggle to pioneer the pet detective industry and lost pet services through Missing Pet Partnership (the nonprofit organization that I founded in 2001). Through MPP I’m working to develop a national network of pet detectives, so this blog will also include details about the development of that network.
Community involvement is the key, so I hope you’re willing to join me by either reading my blog and/or by becoming a lost pet activist yourself. Feel free to post a comment, to ask me questions, and to become involved. And if you have friends who love animals, please invite them to join us!
