Cats do not like the wire in the bottom of the trap, so use a layer of newspaper from outside the trap into the trap. (Of course you do not put it over the treadle.) I wrap black plastic around the trap and leave the ends open, because I was told cats like to see through a trap. Supposedly they are more likely to enter a tunnel than a cave. Sometimes ZabaSearch will offer a report on a phone number including historical information. The one time I paid a dollar, there was no prior owner listed.
